Membership Requirement
For a student to participate in KMEA honor groups the sponsoring teacher must be an active member of the Kansas Music Educators Association.

Middle School Choir Clinician

MJ Harper
MJ Harper currently teaches elementary music in Arkansas City. She holds a MM from Kent State University and a BME from Pittsburg State University. Ms. Harper directs the choir at Grace UMC in Winfield, plays violin with the South Kansas Symphony, and has performed on stage at Roxy's Downtown, Cowley College, Southwestern College, Pittsburg State University, and Pittsburg Community Theatre. She was the SEKMEA Outstanding Elementary Music Educator 2019-20 and is the KMEA Recruitment & Retention Chair. MJ has also been employed as a choreographer, director, music director, clinician, and workshop presenter.
